Market Status: Rally Attempt

Benchmark indices continue to advance for the third consecutive trading session. Nifty Midcap and Smallcap marginally outperformed benchmark indices with 0.5% and 0.6% gains, respectively.

On the sectoral front, Nifty Metal (+2.3%) and Realty (+1.7%) were the top gainers, while Nifty PSU Bank (-0.4%), Media (-0.4%), and Pharma (-0.1%) were the losers.

The advance-decline ratio was in favor of advancers. Of the 2,101 stocks traded on the NSE, 1,011 advanced, 739 declined, and 351 remained unchanged.

Key News

Spicejet: The Company to start new international flights to several international destinations, including Hong Kong, Jeddah, and Dubai from Mumbai. The operations are expected to commence from the end of May. The stock was up 8.6% today.

Future Consumer: The Company plans to raise Rs 280 crore from the issuance of compulsorily convertible debentures (CCDs) to Verlinvest SA and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) on a preferential basis. The stock was up 1.7% today.

Leaders Up on Volume: Godrej Properties (+5.4%), Astrazeneca Pharma India (+3.9%), and Newgen Software Techs (+2.6%)

Leaders Down on Volume: Dcb Bank (-3.3%) and Capri Global Capital (-1.0%)
