Daily Big Picture – Benchmark Indices Slip in Afternoon Trade; Record Fresh Closing Highs

The benchmark equity indices extended their all-time highs led by a rally in technology and auto stocks. The Sensex and the Nifty rose significantly higher, recording a new all-time high. However, in the second half of the session, indices pared solid gains to finally end marginally higher. Daily Big Picture – Benchmark Indices Scale Fresh All-time Highs; Tech Glitch on NSE Results in a Truncated Session

Daily Market Review
The headline indices recorded fresh all-time highs in today’s session, despite the NSE facing technical issues during the first half of the session. The NSE reported a technical glitch that disabled trading in both cash and F&O segments for a few hours. Soon after the session resumed, the Nifty gathered momentum to record a fresh all-time high, similar to the Sensex.

Daily Big Picture – Bulls Take Control on D-Street; Sensex Records Fresh All-Time Closing High

Continuing with the momentum from yesterday, the benchmark indices traded in green all through the day, and approached their all-time highs. The indices ended on a firm footing, with the Sensex at a new all-time closing high and the Nifty less than a point below its own all-time closing high.

Daily Market Review

Despite the weakness seen across the Asian markets, the benchmark indices opened with a positive bias in today’s trade. The indices built on their morning gains, and came within touching distance of their all-time highs. By the end of today’s session, the Sensex ended at its all-time high closing price, while the Nifty ended less than a point shy of its all-time high on a closing basis.
